Northern Beaches Orchestra

About the NBO

The NBO is a community orchestra for musicians of AMEB Standard Grade 6 and above (strings), and AMusA (wind and brass). The Orchestra is a not-for-profit organisation providing opportunity for both professional and amateur musicians on the Northern Beaches to excel musically, enhancing the cultural life of the local community.

Since the ensemble’s inception in 2008, there has been a strong focus on youth music education, and musicians of the Northern Beaches Orchestra are proud to support and mentor our flourishing youth orchestra - the Northern Beaches Youth Orchestra, for players of Standard AMEB Grade 3 to Grade 6.

The NBO performs four to six concerts per year, including the Gala Concert of the Northern Beaches Instrumental Festival and the Northern Beaches Council Christmas Choral Concert.

NBO rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening from 7:15pm to 9:15pm during school term, with players arriving by 7pm to set up and warm up.

The Northern Beaches Orchestra acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands across Australia upon which we live and work.
