The NBYO was launched in 2015 as a community youth orchestra, accepting players from the ages of approximately 9 to 16 with an AMEB Grade (or equivalent) of 2 or higher. It is the feeder orchestra to our NBO where players are of AMEB Grade 6 or higher and over 16 years of age.
The Youth Orchestra is a not-for-profit organisation and was created to provide opportunities for young people and amateur musicians on the Northern Beaches to excel musically, as well as to enhance the cultural life of the local community.
We have developed a strong local profile, appearing in concert venues from Manly to Avalon. We enjoy the generous support of Narrabeen Sports High School, who provide a regular rehearsal venue.
In 2015 the Northern Beaches Youth Orchestra was launched as a new educational initiative for primary and high school
students aged 9-16 years old and of AMEB Grade 3-5 Standard.
*NOTE: Rehearsals are currently suspended under COVID-19
restrictions. Please check back.
