Northern Beaches Children's Orchestra
Calling all enthusiastic beginners! Is your child starting out on a string instrument and keen to play in a String Orchestra with children their own age? Our Northern Beaches Childrens Orchestra is now up and running and invites any child who plays violin, viola, cello or double bass to come along and play with us. The NBCO caters for children from beginner level up until grade 2 AMEB, when they can then move up into the NBYO symphony orchestra. No auditions necessary, just come along to a rehearsal to try it out. See www.nbco.org.au for details.
The NBO recently had an opportunity to professionally record a number of performances, and we are pleased to announce that the videos are now available online! Watch Beethoven's Egmont Overture and the world first recording of Brendan Collins' Jubilation Overture and let us know what you think.
Northern Beaches Youth Orchestra
We are currently looking for more members to join our youth orchestra which rehearses on Wednesday nights 5:30-7:00pm at the Montgomery Hall in Collaroy War Veterans' Village. All instruments and all levels are wanted, this is a great opportunity for kids in year 3 and above to learn from playing in a full orchestra and have a great time! For more information or to enquire about joining, please contact us at email@example.com.
Fundraising in 2017: The Sound of Our Music
Our orchestra relies on sponsorship to continuously improve and expand the sound of our music. In 2017,
we are hoping for additional funding for 2 timpani and a new drum kit to bring our equipment up to a
professional level, and for the scores and parts of new Australian compositional works. This is a big
project costing well over $15,000. We will be applying for grants from a number of sources to make
this happen, however, if you wish to help, here is what you can do:
- become a sponsor,
- ask any businesses you know to sponsor,
- help build our growing audience.
We appreciate any assistance you can give us and look forward to seeing you at our concerts!
